Emphasis on Writing
Our students are offered a variety of opportunities to build their writing skills. One of the on-going creative writing exercises given to Middle School students is timed writing with fun prompts from which they write a short creative story or poem. The students' goal is to be published in the monthly Pendleton Middle School Journal.
In addition to their regular language arts classes, our High School students showcase their journalistic and creative writing talents in the Pendleton Panther monthly school periodical, the Panther Blog, and the Pendleton Yearbook. By the time they are seniors, they are well prepared for those challenging essays required for college applications!
What our Parents Say...
In our daughter's 5 years at Pendleton, she would tell you that she enjoyed all of her teachers. How many students can say that? She really wanted to learn and appreciated how much her teachers sincerely wanted her to achieve success in the classroom. They would go the extra mile to help her get caught up after she had been away on tournaments. The teachers and administrators truly care. -- Parent of a graduating senior |

Founded in 1999, The Pendleton School has grown from a small group of teachers and fewer than 50 students to our current student population of 430 students and 50 teachers. This year is the debut of our Alumni Office with over 400 alumni who proudly claim Pendleton as their alma mater!
Pendleton is special. The faculty are special. You won't find a more caring group of teachers anywhere else. They are highly qualified, devoted, and dedicated to the academic success of every student. As one teacher explains it, "There's something special going on here every day!"
