Pendleton/IMGA Float a Parade Success

We are the world...

Students and staff joined together to create and decorate a float for the annual local DeSoto Heritage Festival Grand Parade on Saturday, April 24. The float was one of 150 parade floats. An estimated 200,000 spectators lined the streets of Bradenton to watch the parade in hopes of receiving colorful beads customarily thrown from floats. They were not disappointed when Pendleton's float passed - students and staff riding the float tossed countless hoops of beads to the eager spectators, while bringing attention to the international contribution the Academy brings to Manatee County.Pendleton/IMGA's float consisted of a large world globe surrounded by international flags representing almost 100 countries atop a flatbed trailer. On the globe were small lights - each one positioned at the home country of one of our students. The concept was the brainchild of Pendleton's Headmaster, Rich Odell, who also designed and coordinated the decoration of the float.
