Elementary Students Raise $800

Elementary School raised money for the  American Cancer Society.

Pendleton’s 4th Annual One-Day Café’ featured 2nd – 5th grade students coming together to make pancakes for friends and staff of IMGA and Pendleton for a 3-hour period for a good cause.  Following a proposed business model, 28 students became “employees,” supervised by a peer manager for every 6 employees. Honing their customer service skills, they served their patrons about 1800 pancakes Wednesday morning!  According to Maria Johnson, 2nd – 3rd grade teacher, "The kids worked very hard and did a great job! We raised approximately $800 for the American Cancer Society and beat our profits from last year. We took in about $1200 which equates to about 600 servings of pancakes, which means about 1800 pancakes out the door...it was the 7 through 11 year olds who ran the show...watch out Donald Trump..."

The students worked diligently planning and executing promotional videos for the One-Day Café’ which can be seen on YouTube:
