Class of 2010 Commencement

The Pendleton School's Tenth Commencement program honoring the Class of 2010 will be held on Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Sarasota Opera House in Sarasota, Florida. A reception for families and staff will follow in the courtyard and lounges of the Opera House. Specific information will be sent to the parents of our graduating seniors.

Did you know...

...high school science teacher Dr. Jon Culbertson was a competitive gymnast in high school and college?  He also competed for the Olympic games and later helped coach the sport. An internationally certified judge of gymnastics, Jon has traveled all over the world to judge competitions.  

...high school math teacher Bob Busch lived all over the world and speaks several languages? A former swim coach and community service organizer, Bob serves as our National Honor Society's advisor and helps the students find volunteer projects like helping with Special Olympics.

...registrar Judy Fraser has served for many years on the board of a credit union? A former mathematics teacher, Judy has also served as chair of the board.

...social science teacher Holly Mayotte was one of twenty-five educators selected to participate in a special program by C-SPAN? She was flown to Washington, DC to receive special training in teaching current events to students. Holly has brought Congressman Dan Miller to campus to speak with students about government, leadership, and international relations. 

...mathematics teacher Edita Soshnikova's favorite hobby is developing her musical vocal skills and sometimes singing with a jazz group? Edita also mentors a peer tutor group on campus pairing students who possess excellent mathematical skills with students who want to boost their mathematical knowledge.

...science teacher Lori Gubernat holds a law degree in health law? Lori has also taught elementary science and worked at medical schools in ophthalmology research and eye donor programs.

...science teacher Fred Shubert recently completed a term with the American Chemical Society's Examinations Institute? As a member, Fred contributed to the 2009 High School Educational Examination with the goal to advance quality education in chemistry.
