Building Leadership

Pendleton students have many opportunities to get involved in activities to broaden their experience. The Leadership Council fosters initiative and awareness of the world beyond school. The Council, run by students for students, also sponsors Habitat for Humanity service projects, social events, and the campus recycling project. The students are so productive that they collected an actual ton of paper for recycling last semester! The Council provides exceptional forums for students to develop leadership skills that will serve them well in their future educational, athletic, and civic endeavors.

One addition is our Alumni Office – devoted to helping our alumni stay connected, updated, and informed – such as an invitation to a special event (like our Alumni Reunion this fall) or an announcement about one of our alumni, like you. Calling all Alumni... Zak Boggs, a Pendleton alumnus and soccer player from the Class of 2005, has been nominated for Lowe's "senior CLASS award" as 1 of 20 nominees (10 male and 10 female) out of 175 possibilities. A Forward on USF's soccer team, Zak has achieved a great deal since leaving Pendleton. CLASS stands for "Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School." Zak was nominated not only for his soccer accomplishments, but also for his grade point average (4.0) in and extra-curricular activities including several community service involvements. He still plays tennis, among a variety of other sports, and has turned a hobby of mixing various genres of music into an opportunity to play for clubs and festivals around the UK.
